From our very beginnings over 70 years ago, R & R Paving has found success by having a quality product. That only comes from hard work and attention to detail. Quality relationships with our customers were formed when they saw the high-quality work we produce and returned to us again and again for all of their pavement needs. As a family-based business, we treat all our employees as a member of the family. Our employees build their lives around the quality careers they have with R & R Paving. Read below to see how our story has unfolded over the years.
1951: R.C. Jensen Paving Founded
Reginald C. Jensen, known as Ray, founded R.C. Jensen Paving in 1951, running the business out of his house and one-acre yard in East Millcreek. His grandson, Ric Seamons, began working for the company in high school, around 1958, and his grandchildren, Rich and Regina, spent many Sunday afternoons playing on the equipment, pretending to dig, roll, and pave asphalt.
1978: Ric Seamons Buys R.C. Jensen Paving From His Grandfather
In 1978, Ric and a partner purchased the company from Ray. A few years later, they purchased some land in South Salt Lake and built the current location of R & R Paving.
1985: Grandson Rich Seamons Joins the R.C. Jensen Paving Crew
Great-grandson of R.C. Jensen, Rich Seamons, joins the R.C. Jensen Paving crew. Working hard during summer months and then full-time after graduating from high school, Rich eventually worked his way up to become the paving crew foreman.
2003: R.C. Jensen Paving Restructured and Renamed R & R Paving
In 2003, Ric split with his partner. Ric and Rich Seamons restructured and changed the name to R & R Paving. Ric’s wife, Shirley, also joins the company as office manager.
2012: Granddaughter Regina Joins as Office Manager and Later as Co-Owner
Shirley retired in 2012, and Regina joined R & R Paving to fill her shoes.
2020: R & R Paving Today
In 2019, Ric retired, and Rich and Regina became partners. The brother/sister duo currently work hard running and growing the company, no doubt making their great-grandfather and founder, R.C. Jensen, proud.
Both Rich and Regina have children working for R & R Paving part-time. Their hope is that after finishing their education, they will want to be fourth-generation owners, continuing the legacy started by their great-great-grandfather Jensen.
